As a boy mom who's also endured the wrath of trauma and the unrelenting effect hormones, your story hit home. Although my boys never refused attending public school, homeschooling has been a blessing to us. It's heartbreaking when a child not only loses their father, but misses out on having a sound father figure. My 11-year-old son's father (my ex) is an alcoholic and has caused horrible anxiety for our son. It's painful to witness and be, for the most part, helpless over (he seldom spends time alone with him).
